Doctor for The World Health Organization

My dream career is to make the world a better, healthier place by working in the World Health Organization as a doctor. I absolutely love the feeling of helping people through community service and being a part of a bigger picture. In elementary school community service was always a chore, until I did my Girl Scout Gold Award and realized how much I actually love helping people. Health is especially an issue close to my heart because I believe everyone deserves a full life. Seeing as you only get one life I believe everyone should be able to spend it doing what they love without being hindered by sickness. Particularly with terminal illness, one becomes defined by their illness and not their true personality. I want to give everyone an opportunity to live a full, happy life without the worries of sickness. I also love traveling and experiencing new things, which I think the W.H.O. can help me do. The more of the world I see, the better humanity appears. I plan to go to medical school to accomplish my goal. Hopefully I can start a career as a doctor before I am twenty-five. My greatest wish is to help children in particular as they are so young and have so much left to do in this life. As a W.H.O. worker I believe I will be able to work with some of the most selfless people in other workers and patients. This would be my ideal career.

Dreams and goals tend to seem very close, as well as completely in reach when we are young. Nevertheless, as we grow older, our dreams change either because our interests are different or possibly as a result of the losing of faith in oneself in achieving their “one-in-a-million” life goal. I think it essential that we do not forget that anything is possible. I agree that not everyone can be the president, a scientist, a singer, a billionaire, or even a doctor, but we will never know of what we can achieve if we do not take the first step which is just to try. In my life, I have stumbled through many challenges which were not fun in any way. Yet through it all, I have learned that the most important thing in life is to have a passion; be it music, fashion, or education. My passion has been music. I love to wake up each morning to my favorite songs, write music with my guitar, and sing in my high school choir. Music is my catharsis, my way to express myself. Although I may not sound like Christina Aguilera when I sing, it does not faze me seeing that when I make music, I feel so alive. Music manifests the true person that I am. My dream career is to be a musician. To me, there is nothing sweeter than the beautiful music which can be enjoyed anywhere, anytime.

Painter/Artist

Brushstroke after brushstroke, the bristles of my paintbrush smoothly slide upon the canvas, leaving a trail of fresh acrylic paint. This is just the beginning of another project, another adventure, a way to share my feelings with the world and anyone who would care to look at my work. Every time I start working on my paintings, my mind starts flowing with ideas and all worries disappear from my world. With the rhythm of the music playing, I start painting, letting my hands and mind take control of the brush. These are the moments in which I wish I could stop the minutes on the clock from changing and make every brushstroke speak my mind and words. Throughout all these of years of painting my thoughts and feelings on a canvas, I have always known in my mind and heart that this is something I want to do for the rest of my life. I want to prove to others that art isn’t just about creating a pretty picture, but creating a picture that shows your feelings, your thoughts, and expressing who you are. There are always people who will try to tell me my dreams will take me nowhere, but I will confidently walk past them, carrying my art supply box in my right hand and my canvases in my left hand, letting the wind carry their words elsewhere because I have a dream waiting to come true.

Model

My dream career is to be a model. This has been my dream career since childhood and I still need more experience to achieve it. However, this contest gives me the ability to try modeling and give my dream career a chance.
As a model I would try to further enhance my career into a profession that I could follow and pursue in my older years. Being a model to me is important because it is in my view the ultimate form of human expression and confidence.

Nurse

My dream career is to be a nurse working both inside and outside the United States. I want to use nursing to serve the less fortunate as often as I can. I have been most inspired by the Medical Service Brigade I joined with HOPE Worldwide in the summer before my senior year.
I had always known I wanted a career in the medical field but did not realize my passion for serving in third-world countries until the trip I took last summer to San Pedro Sula, Honduras. My goal now is to bring hope and medical attention to those who lack access to the most basic of resources. As a nurse, I know that I will have the training and ability to directly impact and improve the lives of impoverished people in countless places. I look forward to the chance to spend more time with loving and beautiful people in countries where medical care is lacking. I feel incredibly privileged to have the access to more than adequate medical care here in the United States and I am compelled to share as much of that as I can with other people in my future career.

Photographer

In the world, there are many forms of art that can be expressed. One of the ways to express art is through Photography. Photography is a form or art that expresses true feelings and emotions in one photograph. Taking pictures is something I have enjoyed doing since middle school. Even when I’m not taking pictures, I look through magazines and admire the creative photos that they demonstrate. I stare and ponder at the images, often getting distracted from the real world I live in. My dream career is being a photographer. I would like to see my work in magazines, advertisements, commercials, or even maybe on a billboard. I want to show my striking photos to the world. Through the lens I see a whole new world, full of beauty and life.

One of the top golfers in the world

It’s Not Just a Dream It’s My Future Career
I am focused on becoming one of the top golfers in the world. Once I set foot on the golf course all I want to do is get lost in what I call my dream world. Suddenly everything is vibrant with energy and I feel like I can finally breathe. In this new environment, the people around me talk about my vigor and they respect me. Up until now the game has put me through so many rigorous tests of my skills and perseverance. And I think, why put so much effort into a game that causes so much strife? The answer lies within my cherished relationships with golfers all around the world and the unbelievable feeling of victory. Every victory only makes my hunger for it stronger. With each taste, I find myself genuinely smiling and laughing. Golf has shaped my personality, my mindset, and ultimately who I am today and it will continue to impact my life until the very end. All I want in the future is to be playing on the LPGA as the top professional golfer and continue to do the thing I love most, Golf.

Music producer

Plato, one of the greatest philosophers of all time, once said, “Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, and life to everything.” This perfectly explains the way I feel about music. To me, music is not just beautifully arranged sounds but an escape from reality. One of the best things about music is that it can take you back to a memory you once loved. “Hakuna Matata,” one of my favorite childhood songs, takes me back to a time when my brothers and I sat around the television and laughed hysterically at the cartoons playing on the screen. Music is powerful; it can bring laughter, sadness, anger or happiness.
Music keeps me sane and for this reason my dream career is to become a music producer. So now you may think, what is the role of a music producer? The producers’ job is to compose the sounds behind the vocalists. Without music producers, we would not have the various genres of music we have today, such as hip-hop & rock and roll. Little do most people know, music producers are the ones that establish the heart and soul of the song. Its like lyrics with no beat, without a beat the lyrics are just words. The most important reason why I want to become a music producer is because I want to create songs that inspire people just like my favorite music has inspired me.

I vividly remember the moment I realized that I have a bright future ahead of me. It was a warm summer night when I suddenly jolted from my bed with an intense urge to pour my thoughts onto paper. Word after word I felt power and passion growing, and with every movement of my pen I was able to alter the world I created. On that warm summer night I began to write, and I haven’t stopped since. I quickly found that the one true thing I could always depend on was my writing and the works of other’s. Intuitively I knew, that one day I would write novels that would impact others the same way books had impacted me. However, I soon realized writing was not my only passion; through my church I began to teach children on a weekly basis. Every week fourteen kids line up in front of my class and for three hours of their week, I get to be the one who molds and shapes their lives, this helped me find purpose and fulfillment beyond belief. Every time I saw their faces light up or heard them laugh I knew that I was making that possible and that I was a small part of their life. I realized that my dream career is one where I can be a teacher and use my spare time to write novels and take pictures around the world, because it incorporates all of my greatest aspirations, passions and ambitions.
